Liverpool and Real Madrid now battle to sign 25 year old Newcastle united star

Liverpool and Real Madrid are competing for the 25-year-old midfielder.
Liverpool will compete with Chelsea and Real Madrid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes next summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have joined Chelsea and Real Madrid in the fight to recruit 25-year-old Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Liverpool has recently expressed interest in the midfielder, and other top clubs are now keeping tabs on him as well. These teams are anticipated to renew their pursuit of the former Ligue 1 player, possibly in January or next summer.

On the other hand, Newcastle are determined to retain the South American player and are actively working to secure his long-term future. Although the 25-year-old’s current contract runs until the summer of 2026, the Magpies are looking to extend his deal.

Guimaraes moved to St. James Park in January 2022 from Olympique Lyon, and the club’s recent financial boost following its takeover has enabled them to make high-profile signings in the current transfer windows.

Hence, it wouldn’t be unexpected for the Magpies to seek a massive transfer fee for their star player. It is said that Eddie Howe’s side is looking for €120 million (£100m). Given the current state of the market, it’s understandable for the Tyneside club to make such demands.

Liverpool underwent significant changes in their midfield during the summer, losing key players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. However, they’ve made promising additions to their midfield.

Players like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are already showing their quality at Anfield. Additionally, the club secured the signings of Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, further enhancing their midfield options.

The Reds are expected to continue their pursuit of a new midfielder in the coming year, and Guimaraes is seen as an ideal addition to Jurgen Klopp’s team. However, given the player’s extremely high release clause, the English giants may need to break their club-record transfer fee to secure the Brazilian’s services at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have the urge to spend big, and they can make things difficult for any club. On the other hand, it is uncertain whether Madrid will spend such a huge sum to sign a midfielder, as they have already brought in Jude Bellingham for a similar fee from Borussia Dortmund.

Guimaraes, in our opinion, might be enticed to join Liverpool because of their Premier League position and the potential thrill of becoming a part of Klopp’s long-term ambition.

It remains to be seen whether this speculation is true and whether the Magpies are successful in securing the player on a new long-term contract. The presence of Real Madrid in the competition usually complicates matters, and Chelsea has made a habit of stealing our midfield targets.
