COOPER PROVIDES INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF BURNLEY CLASH

Steve Cooper has provided an injury update on his side ahead of Monday’s Premier League fixture against Burnley at The City Ground.

The Reds return to action following the international break, but without Danilo who picked up an injury the win over Chelsea last time out.

Elsewhere, Serge Aurier, who was also replaced during the win at Stamford Bridge, and Anthony Elanga, who picked up an injury whilst on international duty with Sweden during the break, will be assessed ahead of Monday’s fixture.

“Danilo picked up an injury that he is still suffering with from the Chelsea game,” the Head Coach said. “It’s a little bit inconclusive on how long he’ll be out for, but he isn’t training at the moment.

“Anthony came back from Sweden early with a strain and Serge walked off at Stamford Bridge too, so some players are being managed carefully and hopefully we get them back as soon as possible.

“We’re not sure (if they will be ready for Monday’s game) as there’s still a few days to go until we play so we can’t really rule anyone in or out, so we will see.”
