Full match details as Young Blues held to a goalless draw in cup action

Town’s U21s opened their Premier League Cup group campaign with a 0-0 draw with Birmingham City at Needham Market’s Bloomfields this evening.

There were chances for both sides in a competitive game, with midfielder Osman Foyo coming closest to break the deadlock when he missed a second-half penalty.

Town have been grouped with the Midlanders, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough in this competition, with Palace thrashing Boro 6-2 on Teesside on Friday.

John McGreal’s side will be playing all their home games in this competition at Bloomfields.

The Young Blues are back in league action next week as they face Bristol City at Ashton Gate and want to build on their two straight wins.
