Corberan makes decision on Sarmiento & Mowatt – West Brom confirmed XI v Watford

Carlos Corberan makes Alex Mowatt decision- confirmed West Brom XI v Watford
Carlos Corberan has confirmed his starting XI to face Watford at Vicarage Road on Wednesday (20 September) with no changes to the West Brom starting line-up.

Despite blanking in their 0-0 result against Bristol City, Corberan has opted to stick with his attacking line, with Brandon Thomas-Asante, John Swift and Jed Wallace keeping their spaces.

Many thought Alex Mowatt and Jeremy Sarmiento would be in contention to start for the Baggies after Corberan confirmed they were available. However, they both make the bench.

West Brom
Six-pointer?

With both clubs having similar aspirations this season, this clash could be an early six-pointer with both sides vying for playoff spots.

Corberan and Ismael have matched each others’ form perfectly this season, with both Watford and West Brom earning two wins, two draws and two defeats in their opening six games in the Championship.

The Baggies will hope to start converting their shots at Vicarage Road this evening, with none of their 13 attempts against Bristol City last time out being converted – or even being on target – as they took a point in their 0-0 result at Ashton Gate.

Mowatt was in contention to start at Vicarage Road. Corberan stated, as quoted by BirminghamLive (20 September): “Mowatt is ready. He could play Wednesday or the next game”. He may have to wait until the next game, but his bench spot could see him return tonight.

Elsewhere, the Hornets have been in top-scoring form, netting five goals in their last two league matches, helping them climb the table to a more reassuring 13th place.

Sitting just one place below them, West Brom will be looking for just their second win in five matches. Boosted by the absence of Ken Sema on Watford’s left-hand side, Corberan’s preferred three at the back could have an easier time than expected.

However, both sides will feel the three points are ready for the taking.
