Joelinton and Joe Willock latest as Eddie Howe has mixed Newcastle United injury news

The Magpies boss has given an update on the injury situation ahead of their trip to face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Eddie Howe must go again without Joelinton for this weekend’s Bramall Lane battle – but the Brazilian is hoping to be back before the next round of international fixtures.

However, Howe does not expect to see Joe Willock back for the next series of games before the October fixture pause. The good news for Howe was that nobody picked up any fresh injuries although Alexander Isak has a long-standing knee problem the club are monitoring day by day.

Howe said at his Press conference ahead of the clash with the Blades: “We are still missing the two Joes in midfield. Apart from the we are pretty good.”

Joelinton missed the return to the Champions League and the glamour group game in Milan, but Howe added: “We hope with Joelinton he could be back sooner. With Willock he will out until the international break.”

Callum Wilson was also only a sub in Milan but his game-time situation has not changed.

Howe said: “With Callum we always have to manage his load. That doesn’t change with Callum. Whether it’s a one game week or a three game week, we have to monitor his training and give ourselves the best chance we have with him of him staying with us through the season. So that’s what we will do.”
