‘My bro’: Joe Willock reacts to what £35m Newcastle man did today against Sheffield United

Joe Willock had to watch from home as Newcastle United put eight past Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon but it didn’t stop him celebrating on social media.

As Sven Botman nabbed his first goal for Newcastle putting them 3-0 up in the first half at Bramall Lane, nobody could possibly have known that there were still five more goals to come.

Rising to meet a Kieran Trippier cross, Sven Botman deftly headed the ball into the bottom corner to grab his first ever goal for the club on his 50th appearance.

Joe Willock immediately showed love to Botman on Instagram

Joe Willock wasted no time in showing his love for the Dutchman on his Instagram reel showing Botman’s on-pitch celebration with a caption saying “My broooo first goal” followed by heart eye emojis.

Eddie Howe said on Friday that Joe Willock will be out of the Newcastle side until after the October international break.

Given how coolly Botman nodded home it’s actually amazing that it was his first goal for the club. With heading like that he should be on so many more.

Botman already looks like a bargain for Newcastle

After signing from Lille for £35million last summer, Botman has cemented his place in Howe’s starting line-up and forged a rock-solid partnership with Fabian Schar.

Nicknamed ‘Rolls Royce’ by Newcastle fans, Botman was said to be close to joining AC Milan before signing for Newcastle but he eventually made the right choice.

Botman has already proved to be a bargain and at just 23 years old, Newcastle can look forward to many more years of Botman at the back.
