Roy Hodgson confirms three star now ruled out ahead of Manchester United clash

Crystal Palace will be missing several key players when they travel to Manchester United in midweek and at the weekend.Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is not expecting to have the duo of Michael Olise and Matheus Franca available until after the next international break adding to the headache of losing Odsonned Edoaurd against Fulham. The Palace boss confirmed the blow after their 0-0 draw to Fulham at Selhurst. He is quoted by South London Press: “Neither [are expected back] in the next period of time,” confirmed the Palace boss.

“I can’t seriously imagine either being available before the international break, and that will be another couple of weeks.

“Even then, in particular with Olise’s injury, it was a very serious one he suffered with France. We have to be very careful that we don’t have a situation, which possibly happened to Wilf when he went to Turkey, because it was a similar injury, that him playing a bit earlier provoked a similar injury in the same area. “It kept Wilf out for three or four weeks when he made his [Galatasaray] debut. They [Olise and Franca] are both making progress. “We’re following the consignes of the medical department and physios. I don’t want to insist that a player had to come back earlier and then I’m responsible if something happens again and we miss him for another two months.”

Odsonne Edouard makes brilliant Celtic admission

The former England manager also expressed concern about Edouard’s hamstring injury, which forced him to leave the Fulham game late and may cause him to miss the Manchester United double header.

“I can’t attack the Carabao Cup as I intended because I don’t have any players,” he told reporters. Edouard’s hamstring is bothering me. When I find out a player will be away for three weeks, I’m pleased it’s not three months.”

Manchester United are the League Cup holders, having defeated Burnley the weekend before the Eagles game.

“We’re following the medical department’s and physiotherapists’ orders. I don’t want to require that a player return early and then hold me accountable if they don’t something happens again and we miss him for another two months.”something happens again and we miss him for another two months.” Read More
