17-goal striker wanted by Nottingham Forest now fancies joining Premier League club

Report: 17-goal striker wanted by Nottingham Forest now fancies joining another PL club.
Marcos Leonardo was a target for Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window. Ultimately, the Brazilian decided to stay with Santos but now fancies a move to England.

Several clubs wanted the striker during the transfer window that has just closed. West Ham and Brentford were two clubs very keen to sign him; whilst Roma also made a move.
Leonardo opted to stay in Brazil, however, where it looks as though he will finish the campaign. The player has 17 goals and four assists from his 36 games during the 2023 campaign.

Leonardo now fancies move to another Premier League club
Given their knack for unearthing gems, it’s no surprise that Brighton are now keen on Leonardo. Furthermore, it’s claimed that the player would rather sign for the Seagulls than Brentford.

Roberto De Zerbi has transformed things at the AMEX Stadium. They are in the Europa League this season, although they did lose their opening game of that campaign to AEK Athens.
According to Premier League Brazil, the player now fancies a move to England. He has Brighton in his sights and it’s thought that he’d welcome that move.

Will Forest move for Leonardo in January?

It has to be said that right now it looks unlikely. Forest have Taiwo Awoniyi spearheading their attack, with Divock Origi and Chris Wood both waiting in the wings.

Unless one of those players were to get injured before January, it’s hard to imagine Forest rivalling Brighton. As much as they’d love to sign Leonardo, it looks as though he may have his heart set on signing elsewhere.

Leonardo looks like a quality player. At 20-years-old, he’s deemed one of the brightest young talents in Brazil and it’s hard to knock Forest for showing an interest in these types of players.
