Kasey McAteer responds to injury blow with Leicester City vow

Latest Leicester City news as injured winger Kasey McAteer posts a message after hobbling off with a hamstring problem against Blackburn Rovers.
Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer has vowed to “recover and get back out there” after picking up a hamstring injury against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

McAteer pulled up in the opposition penalty box while through on goal, just 13 minutes after coming on as a substitute. He hobbled off, and it is now feared the youngster could be out for as long as six weeks.

The academy graduate has posted a message to his teammates and supporters following the match. His post has garnered an outpouring of support and well-wishes from Leicester fans.

McAteer posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Proud of the boys today. 3 points at a tough place to go. Gutted to pick up this injury, time to recover and get back out there.”

One City fan replied: “We’re gonna miss you for sure. The brightest light coming out of the academy this season. Recover and rest; we will see you soon.”

 

Another said: “One of the highlights for me this season has been watching your progress. Looking forward to your return.”

A third told McAteer: “Everyone is behind you Kasey. You’ve had an amazing start to the season and we are all so proud especially given you’re from the academy. Get rested, recover well and we’ll see you back in the pitch soon.”

 

To date, McAteer has scored four goals in seven Championship games this season. He also netted one goal in his two Carabao Cup appearances.
