QPR Boss Gareth Ainsworth confirmed injury boost as two star players now fit to face Leeds United

Gareth Ainsworth was ‘gutted’ by the QPR injury news, but two players are likely to return against Leeds United.
QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth said he was “gutted” to lose defender Morgan Fox before facing Leeds United on Wednesday (4 October), but he does have the benefit of bringing back two players.

Fox, a former Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City left-back, suffered a knee injury during QPR’s 3-1 home defeat to Coventry City on Saturday (30 October).

As a result, he will miss out against the Whites at Elland Road, much to Ainsworth’s disgust.

“If Morgan is unavailable, we have some good options and will proceed from there.” I was devastated to see him leave since he was so important to the game. “We need to make sure we look after Morgan and get him back as soon as possible,” Ainsworth added, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post (4 October).

QPR, on the other hand, are poised to benefit from the return of Jimmy Dunne, who has yet to play this season owing to a shoulder injury incurred in pre-season. After serving a three-match suspension, Jack Colback is also back in contention.

Time to bounce back

Leeds are still hurting after last weekend’s 3-1 loss to Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday (30 September), a result that no one saw coming.

That result should serve as a wake-up call for Daniel Farke and his players, as they face a side that is now 22nd in the table and is largely projected to be among the clubs battling the drop this season.
The loss of Fox is crucial for QPR, since the full-back has plenty of experience in the division, and with Leeds’ abundance of attacking flair, Ainsworth is naturally frustrated not to have him available.

Leeds must capitalize on this reality, and they are aware that the onus is on them to return to winning ways as soon as possible in order to maintain the momentum they had previous to the Saints defeat.
