Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Reds striker Taiwo Awoniyi faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been ruled out for a lengthy period of time after suffering a groin problem. Reds boss Steve Cooper confirmed before their match against Crystal Palace that the front man is expected to be out of action for up to a month.
It is a big blow for the Reds as the 26-year-old has been in fine form. He had picked up from where he left off in 2022/23 after scoring in each of his first three appearances this season.
Here is what Reds fans have said on social media about the injury news…
The Random Pundit: Massive credit here to the club for transparent info before kick off so fans are not in the dark and speculating. Thank you!
Rimal: Time for Wood and Origi to step up.
Grant Fellows: Actually handy international breaks here, although we have decent back up now.
Ella: Praying this isn’t the start of a 22/23 season repeat.
Elliott: Scoring 17 goals on his comeback then.
James: Straight back after international break in Cooper speak.
Isaac: We’re not a team who needs to rely on one player anymore. We are still going to have a great month. COYR!!
Tyler: Thank god for the international break.
