The latest Nottingham Forest news as Callum Hudson-Odoi completed a deadline day transfer to the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has said that summer signing Callum Hudson-Odoi is the “perfect winger” to play alongside, following his move to the City Ground.

Hudson-Odoi was one of a number of late arrivals at the club this summer. He completed a deadline day move from Chelsea for a total potential fee of around £5million. The former England man made an instant impact, scoring a memorable equalising goal on his debut for the club in the 1-1 draw against Burnley last month. He has since started two of the last three Premier League games.

The winger’s arrival at the City Ground was met with excitement from fans. But it wasn’t only supporters who were looking forward to see what the winger could do for the club, with Gibbs-White also enjoying linking up with an old friend.

“I’ve known Callum since I was 16 so I know what he’s like,” he told Premier League Productions. “When I was growing up one-on-one, he was the best; the best I’ve ever played against, the best player I’ve seen.

“I just know what he likes, I know what he wants. I know where he wants the ball, he’s not only a one-on-one player, he wants the one-twos, he wants to combine.

“For me, he’s just the perfect winger to want to play with because he will run in behind, come short and I just love him and playing with players like that.”

Hudson-Odoi burst onto the scene at Chelsea as a youngster. He did however see his game time dwindle in recent years due to injury and loss of form.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, but scored just one goal in 21 appearances over the campaign. He will now look to re-find his form at the City Ground.
