West Bromwich Albion’s midfielder, John Swift, is set to face a substantial absence of approximately six weeks due to a calf injury. The 28-year-old sustained the muscle strain during the second half of West Brom’s 3-1 loss to local rivals Birmingham City on Friday.
Swift had initially given the Baggies the lead at St Andrew’s, raising his goal tally for the season to six. West Brom has indicated that they anticipate Swift’s return to occur following the November international break.
This timeframe means that the former Reading player will be sidelined for five Championship matches, including home fixtures against Plymouth, QPR, and Hull, as well as away trips to Coventry and Southampton.
