Just In: QPR confirm the signing of brilliant star who is now set to make first appearance for QPR

A young player from Norwich City and a former Fulham prospect who has been released are currently on a trial at QPR.

QPR’s development team is in action today, facing Bristol City’s U21 side. One notable addition to the QPR lineup is Reggie Cannon, who recently joined as a free agent and is eager for his first start with the first team. The starting lineup for today’s game also includes a few other new faces.

Additionally, QPR has two trialists, Michael Reindorf and Eric Ameyaw, on the bench. Michael Reindorf, aged 18, is a midfielder currently under contract with Norwich City. On the other hand, Eric Ameyaw, a 21-year-old towering center-back standing at 6ft 3in, is now a free agent after being released by Fulham. Both players are trying out for QPR’s development squad in their game against Bristol City today.

QPR’s first-team, led by Gareth Ainsworth, has had a difficult start to the 2023/24 Championship campaign, with only two wins in their first 11 games, placing them in 22nd position on the table.

QPR appears to have a pattern of giving opportunities to young talents who were previously overlooked, following the success story of Ebere Eze. Reindorf and Ameyaw might be the next in line to potentially join the club and strive for a spot in the first-team lineup. The status of Reindorf’s affiliation with Norwich City and the possibility of a compensation fee for his signing remain uncertain.

This news brings excitement to QPR, especially considering the potential reliance on their youth system in the face of possible relegation to League One this season. The first-team is set to face Huddersfield Town this upcoming weekend.
