Mansfield Town’s Rhys Oates and Stephen McLaughlin are set to return next month, according to the club’s official website.
Mansfield Town have been without the pair recently. The Stags return to League Two action this weekend, hosting Forest Green Rovers.
Oates has been sidelined due to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, McLaughlin has been sidelined due to a knee injury.
Their next game will be too soon for the pair, and they are both looking forward to their return in the Papa John’s Trophy on November 7th against Everton U21s, according to the club website. In other news, Stephen Quinn and Elliott Hewitt have been ruled out for a little longer due to knee issues.
Mansfield injury latest
When Oates returns, it will be a huge boost for Mansfield. They won’t rush him back in to avoid aggravating his injury.
The 28-year-old, who has previously played for Barnsley, Hartlepool United, and Morecambe, adds competition and depth to their offensive department.
He understands how to find the back of the net at fourth-tier level, having scored 21 goals in 79 appearances since joining the Stags in 2021.
McLaughlin has been a key member for Nigel Clough’s team since moving from Southend United to Field Mill in 2020.
The Irishman, 33, adds valuable experience to their ranks as well as skill on the left side. He has played over 400 games in his career but has yet to appear this season.
Mansfield have yet to lose in the league this season as they seek promotion to League One. Last season, they were just out of the playoffs.
The Stags won 4-1 away at rivals Notts County last time out and will be looking to keep their momentum going against Forest Green.
