Just in: Celtics Waive Another Fantastic Star From Two-Way Deal

According to the NBA transactions record, the Celtics needed to clear a two-way position before signing center/forward Nathan Knight, and they have done so by dismissing shooting guard Jay Scrubb.

Scrubb sustained an ACL tear and is set to miss the season, so the move comes as no surprise.

Scrubb, 23, is 6-foot-5 and has spent his NBA career on two-way or non-guaranteed contracts, participating in two games with the Magic last season and 22 combined in the previous two years with the Clippers.

Scrubb, the No. 55 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, signed a two-way contract with Boston on July 15.

Meanwhile, Knight joins shooting guard JD Davison and center Neemias Queta as two-way players for the Celtics this season.
