This past weekend, Tommy Doyle made his Wolves debut with a fantastic performance against Bournemouth.
Wolves’ 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday showcased Tommy Doyle’s budding talent.
Gary O’Neil singled him out for praise after the game, calling the 22-year-old “excellent” because he was so good.
Doyle will be hoping that this marks the start of his regular role at Old Gold.
He has now discussed his arrival at Molineux with Express and Star, stating that he is prepared to begin.
Doyle on being ready to start for Wolves
“Perhaps I have my unique qualities, but everyone can participate in football,” he clarified.
“It’s all about learning from each other, putting in the effort, and, if you’re called upon, being prepared. I’m prepared whenever the coach requires me, so I hope that’s every week. However, if it’s not, I’ll continue to support my teammates, and hopefully, we can maintain our winning streak. I arrived with a minor injury from the Euros, but I was okay. It was a matter of regaining my strength and getting back to a competitive level. I believe I’m now at a point where I’m fully prepared.
“It has taken some time, but my main goal is to give my all for my teammates, the manager, and the fans.”
Will he start this weekend in Wolves v Newcastle?
O’Neil must make a crucial choice now that Mario Lemina is back. Has Doyle performed well enough to earn a starting position?
We believe he has, as evidenced by his ability to enter the game off the bench and alter it right away. When playing a top-tier Newcastle team, Wolves may benefit immensely from this.
Doyle improves Wolves’ on-ball performance, which helps them gain more game control.
We would start him, leaving Joao Gomes on the bench for this one as Mario Lemina makes a comeback to start next to him.
