Newcastle United’s winger is now on loan at Feyenoord, the Dutch champions.
Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh is facing a period of absence due to an injury setback. The 19-year-old, who joined Newcastle from Danish club Odense Boldklub for £7 million in June and was subsequently loaned to Feyenoord for the 2023-24 season, has made a notable impact with three goals in nine Eredivisie appearances and participation in both Champions League matches against Celtic and Atletico Madrid.
Unfortunately, Minteh’s progress is now set to be hindered, as Feyenoord has confirmed that he will be sidelined for “several weeks” due to a muscle injury sustained during a league match against Vitesse last Saturday. Minteh, the Gambian international on loan from Newcastle United, has played twelve official matches for Feyenoord, scoring three times.
Newcastle is keeping a close eye on Minteh’s development, with manager Eddie Howe expressing his satisfaction with the player’s loan performance. Minteh himself remains uncertain about his future with Newcastle, as he shared his experiences in Rotterdam, where he feels appreciated and believes he is developing under the current coaching staff.
