Los Angeles Rams NFL trade deadline plans revealed

Los Angeles Rams General Manager Les Snead has gained a reputation as one of the most active figures in the NFL’s trade market over the past decade. Notably, the Rams haven’t selected a first-round pick in the NFL Draft since 2016 when they picked Jared Goff first overall, largely due to Snead’s frequent dealings.

Given the Rams’ somewhat unexpected 3-4 start to the current season, there had been speculation about them making significant moves before the October 31 NFL trade deadline. However, it appears that won’t be the case. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, there’s a prevailing sense that the Rams will remain inactive in the trade market unless they receive a surprising offer from another team.

It’s worth noting that circumstances can change. Last season, the Rams were willing to part with two first-round picks and more to acquire Carolina Panthers star EDGE rusher Brian Burns, and they were at a similar record at that time. This season, however, the Rams don’t appear to be strong playoff contenders. They let go of key players like Jalen Ramsey and Allen Robinson during the offseason, which has contributed to their surprising 3-4 start.

If the Rams do become active leading up to the deadline, it’s more likely they will be sellers. Their upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys could play a significant role in determining their course of action, and a loss might make the decision to sell assets easier.

Players like left tackle Joe Noteboom, tight end Tyler Higbee, and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon could garner interest from other teams, but any potential trades involving them would have a limited impact in the larger context.

Regarding Aaron Donald, a future Hall of Famer, it seems highly improbable that he will be traded during the season, despite ongoing trade rumors surrounding the defensive tackle in recent months.
