Milan now confirm move to sign striker in January amid attacking issues

AC Milan has been struggling to score in the Champions League and has faced attacking challenges in the league as well. Consequently, there are reports suggesting that they might bring in a new striker in January.

In the Champions League, they’ve played three games, earned just two points, and failed to score any goals, leaving them at the bottom of their group. To secure a spot in the knockout stages, Milan will need to put up strong performances in their upcoming matches, even though they are scheduled before January. However, the possibility of acquiring additional firepower in the form of a new striker in January is being considered.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan’s management is well aware of their struggles in the forward positions and is currently assessing their options in the transfer market. They have identified Jonathan David from Lille as their primary target, and he is valued at €40 million with a contract expiring in 2025. It’s worth noting that just a few months ago, Lille was asking for €60 million for David, and Milan is hopeful of negotiating a lower fee. Nevertheless, it’s evident that a substantial investment will be required to bolster their attack in January.

Jonathan David has already scored four goals this season, and in the previous season, he found the back of the net 26 times. At 23 years old, he possesses the quality to potentially become Milan’s new No.9
