The AC Milan management believes that their current squad is not yet complete, and Geoffrey Moncada is already planning their next moves, according to a report. Calciomercato.com points out that Milan’s recent poor results have exposed the deficiencies in their squad, even though it is deeper and of higher quality compared to the previous season. Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio have been methodically and strategically working to build a strong foundation that will be further improved in future transfer windows, with a clear plan for their next steps.
One glaring gap in the squad is the absence of a high-quality backup for Theo Hernández. This is why Juan Miranda has become a top priority target. Milan intends to make an early move, possibly in January, offering €3-4 million for Miranda, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Additionally, they plan to make a winter transfer market attempt to acquire Jonathan David, a Canadian striker considered important for both the present and the future.
However, Lille is currently hesitant to let go of their prized asset during the ongoing season, making it uncertain whether a deal for David will materialize. This uncertainty also opens the door to the possibility of pursuing Mehdi Taremi, as his contract is also expiring, though it remains to be seen if Lille will be willing to part with him at this time.
