The NFL imposed fines on four Pittsburgh Steelers players after their Week 7 victory against the Los Angeles Rams, as reported by Nick Farabaugh on Steelers Now. These fines were incurred by running back Jaylen Warren, wide receiver Diontae Johnson, and safety Damontae Kazee, with wide receiver George Pickens receiving two fines.
Warren was penalized $48,556 for using his helmet in a manner not penalized during the game. To put this in perspective, Warren earns an annual salary of $874,000, averaging just over $51,000 per game before taxes, according to Over the Cap. David Canter, the president of Warren’s agency, GSE Worldwide, mentioned that they plan to appeal this fine.
This marks the second time this year that Warren has essentially played a game without earning a salary due to significant fines imposed by the NFL.
