Ex Newcastle owner Mike Ashley’s helicopter has been spotted at Reading FC sparking takeover rumours

Fans of Reading Football Club are bracing themselves for news of a potential takeover by former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley.

As they are presently at the bottom of League One, Reading doesn’t really have anything to lose. However, after supporters saw a helicopter in the Madejski Stadium with the words “Frasers Group” painted on its side, rumors on the internet started to circulate that Mike Ashley might be considering purchasing the team.

The Reading Chronicle has also picked up the story.

Some Reading fans seem weirdly optimistic about Ashley

One fan told his fellow supporters:

“Don’t get sucked in by the Geordie view. He wasn’t a bad owner.”

While it’s true that everyone has the right to their own opinions, it wouldn’t be wise to disregard a sizable fan base like ours that was essentially in agreement regarding Ashley’s term.

Reading is clearly not going well. It’s a formula for catastrophe to place Michael James Wallace Ashley on a pedestal, even though they’re falling through the ranks like the Banana Splits.

Good luck, Reading, but don’t say we didn’t warn you

In actuality, he may stabilize the team, but that would be the extent of his influence. The books will remain balanced when he makes that adjustment.

The Madejski Stadium will rename itself The Sports Direct Arena 2.0, or most likely just increase the quantity of billboards.

We wouldn’t wish Mike Ashley on anyone, not even Sunderland, but we’ll allow Reading supporters get giddy about the possibility of winning the Balance Sheet Championship in 2024.
