Watching from a distance, Eddie Howe, Newcastle’s manager, observed Manchester United’s struggles, including the recent defeat to Manchester City. This marked the seventh loss for Manchester United in various competitions this season. Despite the injury troubles faced by Newcastle, they do not intend to underestimate ten Hag’s team. Newcastle will come into the game with motivation, especially after their painful cup final defeat at Wembley last season. When asked how he plans to motivate his players for this crucial match against the black-and-white side, ten Hag stated, “We may be disappointed and frustrated today, but tomorrow we will be ready. We will approach the game with determination and energy.”

Roy Keane, a Manchester United legend, expressed concerns about his former team’s performance, even before their Sunday loss, as they finished just four points ahead of Newcastle in the table last season. He pointed out that, in recent years, the comparison had been between United and City, but he is now more worried about other teams surpassing Manchester United in the current scenario. He cited examples like Tottenham, Liverpool’s recovery, Newcastle’s progress, Arsenal’s strengthening, and United falling behind the pack.
