What, in your opinion, was the main factor in the Cowboys’ successful offensive performance last week?
On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys appeared to be a team that was rebuilding after they gave the Los Angeles Rams the appearance of a squad in rebuilding mode. Many of us are feeling much better about the current state of this football team after a convincing 43-20 victory. Although we are accustomed to seeing the defense cause havoc, it was still fantastic to watch. It was really amazing to watch the special teams perform flawlessly multiple times, but it was hardly shocking. But the Cowboys offense was the true surprise. This game saw a season-high four touchdowns from the offense. The most striking feature is in one of his finest games to date, Dak Prescott tore at the Rams’ defense.
The Cowboys are untouchable when Dak is performing well. It’s a reality of statistics.
When Prescott has a passer rating over 114, the Dallas Cowboys are 30-0.

The Cowboys’ running backs did a great job cleaning up the blocks, but the Rams defense got at Prescott, blitzing him several times. It’s difficult to determine if the play-calling or whether the Rams’ defense was simply allowing too much cushion, but Prescott’s frequency of finding receivers wide open was significantly more than in prior weeks.
The coaching staff performed a far better job of coming up with route concepts that pushed the Rams’ defense to choose where to cover and opened up space between the targets. It led to some excellent single-coverage matchups that Prescott took advantage of, or it resulted in advantageous matchups with linebackers covering tight ends down the seam.
The Cowboys’ problems running the ball persisted. The team’s lack of equipment at the line of scrimmage was an improvement, but when they did put some hats on between the hash marks, it only made a small difference produced quick gains.
Even with a favorable game script, the offensive line was unable to rely too much on the running game during the most of the contest, while doing a good job of run blocking.
While it’s unfortunate that this problem persists, at least the coaching staff is aware of it and doesn’t keep running into defenders. Rather, the Cowboys devised more inventive solutions to lessen their problems with the running game. The Cowboys tried everything from jet sweeps to bubble screens with blockers out in front, doing everything it took to get their playmakers out in space Possibly worth more.
