After difficulties with their injuries, a few of Sunderland’s injured players have resumed their training.
Adil Aouchiche, a playmaker for Sunderland, has been practicing with the first team and might be added back to the group for the trip to Swansea this coming weekend.
Due to a groin injury, the 21-year-old has missed the team’s past two games against Norwich and Leicester. However, he was seen participating in Tuesday’s Academy of Light practice. Sunderland head coach Tony Mowbray stated before the team’s 3-1 victory over Norwich on Saturday: “Adil, the medical report tells me it’s one to two weeks so that’s not going to be a long problem.”
Eliezer Mayenda, who has been out since the preseason due to a hamstring injury, may also be included in Sunderland’s squad for their trip to Swansea on Saturday. “I think he probably could have been on the bench but if he’s telling the medical department he’s feeling his hamstring a little bit, even though he finished the whole training session yesterday, I made the call,” Mowbray said in response to a question regarding the 18-year-old following the Norwich game.
