Cian Kelly-Caprani was given the chance to go on trial by QPR, and he played in yesterday’s development squad match against Cardiff City.
QPR frequently looks to add fresh players to their academy, and swiping for players released by other teams is an excellent approach to achieve this goal. This does not have to be limited to the months of the transfer window; it can be done at any point during the season.
It appears that the R’s are currently using this chance to check out a few other up-and-coming talents as well. Sam Oluwatobi, a former West Brom player, was included in the starting lineup on Monday against Cardiff City, and reporter Ian McCulloch confirmed that he is a trialist.
Another fresh face on the bench was Irish defender Kelly-Caprani, who is currently reportedly on trial with QPR according to West London Sport.

After being released by Derby County at the end of the previous campaign, Kelly-Caprani has not been signed by a team. He never played for the Rams’ first team, but he was a mainstay for the U18s and U21s, where he filled in at several positions but mostly on the left as he was a regular for the U18s and U21s, playing a variety of positions but primarily on the left as a full-back or wing-back.

It will be intriguing to see if he can secure a deal in West London Following their breakup with Gareth Ainsworth,
the R’s are going through a transitional phase.
They have recently brought in Spanish manager Marti Cifuentes from Swedish team Hammarby to take over as manager.
It will be interesting to observe the new boss’s level of academy involvement. It’s not unusual for young players to receive an opportunity under new leadership, therefore there will undoubtedly be some QPR prospects hoping to grab his attention.
