It appears like Tony Mowbray has opened the door for Jack Clarke to go during the January transfer window.
This season, the forward has been outstanding for Sunderland, but he has drawn unwanted attention from other places.

The Clarets might rekindle that interest in the winter window, casting doubt on his long-term future at the Stadium of Light—doubts that were heightened by the Sunderland manager’s remarks the previous weekend.
“He is a wonderful talent,” said Mowbray, via the Mirror.
“We had bids for him, and we will have to see what the club’s thought patterns are in January.”

Sunderland supporter Jack Austwicke of FLW says he wouldn’t be astonished if the team sold its star player during the winter transfer window.

“It doesn’t come as a massive surprise I’ll be totally honest with you,” Austwicke told Football League World.
“When you’ve got a player performing that well at the age he is, in the league he is as well.
“It wouldn’t surprise me.
“I wouldn’t like to see him leave in January, I think it’d be a bit silly to let him go no matter what money we really got because he will be vital in our promotion push.
“I can’t see him staying past this season regardless, but as long as we can hold onto him past January I’m okay with that personally.”
To be quite honest with you, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise, Austwicke said to Football League World.
“When a player is playing that well in the league at his age, it speaks volumes about him.”
“I wouldn’t be shocked by it.”
“I think it would be a bit foolish to let him go no matter how much money we really got because he will be vital in our promotion push, so I wouldn’t like to see him leave in January.”
“It’s not possible for me to see him sticking around past this season, but as long as we can keep him around past January, that’s fine with me.”
As the team’s main goal scorer, Clarke has made a significant impact in the first 14 games of the new season with nine goals and one assist.
During the whole of the previous year’s Championship season, the winger scored nine goals in the league, matching an already remarkable total.
After finishing sixth in their first season back in the second division last year, Sunderland will be looking to place in the top six once more.
Despite a recent slump in performance, Mowbray’s team is presently ninth in the standings, with just one point separating them from the play-off spots.
