Arsene Wenger talking to beIN SPORTS about Eddie Howe:

“I would say that Eddie Howe performed admirably at Bournemouth before going through a very trying time that he undoubtedly learned a lot from.”And he accepted the invitation to travel to Newcastle.

“As a new manager, I found it to be an intriguing task at the time.

“Why?” You want to attend a club where you have the potential to be successful, where you haven’t done anything in a while, but where you have so much promise.

“It was challenging at first [at Newcastle United], but his experience at Bournemouth was a big assistance.”

“Since joining Newcastle in November 2021, he has gradually instilled in the team a sense of balance, desire, and passion for the game. He has also been consistent in his results.” He performed well in aiding Newcastle in turning things around.

All things considered, I have to admit that he has performed admirably over the past two years.

“Even you know [Arsene Wenger chuckles] that they just defeated Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 in the Champions League, a competition they haven’t participated in in a very long time.”

They are now regarded by you as being outside the top four.

“Staying consistently in the top four will be Newcastle United’s next step.

“And to contend for the Premier League after that.

And it will undoubtedly take a few more elite players with the same mindset to do that.

Eddie Howe’s task is to maintain the performance-oriented mindset he has ingrained in the team while incorporating additional quality without sacrificing it.
