Miami Heat vs. Washington Wizards Injury Report
The Miami Heat are set to face off against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
The Miami Heat are coming off four consecutive losses but face the Washington Wizards (1-3) at the Kaseya Center on Friday.
Miami has dealt with countless injuries this season but should claim a victory over the Wizards with relative ease. The Heat are fresh off a disappointing four-point defeat to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday evening.
Injury Report:
HEAT
Caleb Martin: Out – Left Knee; Tendinosis.
Jimmy Butler: Probable – Right Knee; Tendinitis
Jaime Jaquez Jr.: Available – Right Calf; Strain
Kevin Love: Available – Left Shoulder; Contusion
Dru Smith: Available – Right Shoulder; Contusion
Bam Adebayo: Available – Left Hip; Contusion
Haywood Highsmith: Available – Left Knee; Sprain
WIZARDS
Daniel Gafford: Questionable – Left Ankle; Sprain
Corey Kispert: Questionable – Left Ankle; Sprain.
Without forward Caleb Martin, rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. will continue receiving meaningful playing time. Martin has not appeared in a game since the Heat’s opener, where he scored two points in 19 minutes.
Guard Tyler Herro is the key to Miami’s success down the road. He is averaging over 28 points on nearly 50 percent shooting over the last four games.
“The past runs really don’t have any meaning on this season,” Herro said. “It’s a new season, and every year’s a new year, and we have to figure out solutions to win games. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves, and no one feels sorry for us. It’s on us and the guys in this locker room.”
Despite the multitude of injuries, the Heat need to find ways to win in the regular season. Their improbable NBA Finals run from last year’s playoffs is nearly impossible to replicate.
