Tonali has been suspended from football for ten months, but he is still allowed to train with his teammates.
Sandro Tonali has resumed his Newcastle United training regimen. The Italy midfielder’s punishment doesn’t expire until the end of August of the following year, but FIFA has communicated with Newcastle and verified that he can still collaborate with his teammates.
After being accused of unlawful betting by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Tonali was suspended from competitive football for ten months, Newcastle revealed this week. The ban will take effect on Friday, October 27, 2023.
The athlete will serve an 18-month suspension from FIGC, of which eight months will be suspended while they complete a 16-commitment treatment plan and educational program in Italy.
He will be free to play again on August 27, 2024 but, in the meantime, he is free to train with his Magpies team-mates.
According to Eddie Howe, Sandro is in training. Despite being around his teammates, he has begun that lonely process. Right now, we’ve played a ton of games and had a lot of one-on-one time.
However, since he has begun the 10-month trek, it is a mental test for him. Sandro needs to make an effort to overcome that and emerge a stronger player. As coaches, our goal is undoubtedly to try and assist him. However, it will not be easy for him.
In response to a question regarding his replacement in January, Howe remarked, “January is such a long way off.” I am unable to settle down and decide what to do. When we make our plans, it will be closer to January.
