Nottingham Forest midfielder in ‘difficult situation’ amid transfer talk

Gustavo Scarpa, a midfielder for the Reds, is still being linked to a transfer.
Nottingham Forest’s midfielder Gustavo Scarpa is currently facing a challenging predicament. The Brazilian player is spending this season on loan at Olympiacos, a club also owned by Evangelos Marinakis, as he fell out of favor at the City Ground. However, he is struggling to secure regular playing time in Greece.

Scarpa has been mentioned as a potential candidate for a return to Brazil, less than a year after he joined Nottingham Forest as a free agent. Teams like Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras have all been associated with the 29-year-old midfielder.

In contrast, it appears that Palmeiras, the club Scarpa left prior to his move to Nottingham Forest, is only willing to take him on loan. On the other hand, it has been reported that Forest has “rejected” the idea of another temporary transfer for the player.

According to Brazilian journalist Paulo Vinicius Coelho, who was interviewed by UOL, the prospect of Scarpa returning to Palmeiras in January is very challenging. Coelho asked people involved in the situation, and their response indicated that Forest wouldn’t accept a loan arrangement; they would insist on a permanent purchase. This suggests that negotiations may be difficult, as Forest’s stance on loans would make any potential deal more complicated.
