In preparation for their Champions League match against Newcastle United tonight, Borussia Dortmund may make a few changes to their roster.
Bild has reported that manager Edin Terzic may decide to bench Niclas Fullkrug for the crucial game.
The striker, who signed a €13 million contract with Dortmund from Werder Bremen last summer, hasn’t quite “arrived,” according to the outlet.
“Will Terzic dare?” Bild queries, mentioning that the manager has been thinking of substituting the highly regarded 18-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko for Fullkrug.
The story even cites certain data that demonstrate the more seasoned striker’s lackluster play at Dortmund this season, nowhere like as good as it was at Werder Bremen, and for that reason, little is expected of him against Newcastle.
If the Bundesliga team decides to go with Moukoko instead, they will be selecting a younger player who is primarily used as a substitute and has only scored two goals in nine games this season.
Defending Newcastle would be a terrific opportunity for him to get off to a goal.
