Regarding Newcastle United’s Champions League matchup with Borussia Dortmund later tomorrow evening, Jermaine Jenas has spoken his opinions.
The Magpies will be aiming to go for the knockout stages and exact revenge for their 1-0 loss in the rematch at St. James’ Park.
In the lead-up to the match, Jenas gave his thoughts on what Newcastle should accomplish to escape their difficult group to TNT Sports.
Eddie Howe’s team is now in third place in Group F after one win, one loss, and one tie, but there is still plenty of work to be done as the competition moves into its final three group games.

The daring statement from the former Newcastle midfielder is that he would gladly accept a point against the German team and focus on winning the following two games to advance to the next round.
In what may be the pivotal match for qualification, Newcastle will play PSG in the French capital on November 28 before traveling back to the North East to host AC Milan on December 13.
Before the match, Jenas stated: “We’re going to play a completely different game over in Dortmund.” Of course, I would accept a point.
They want to be in this competition in order to experience these moments, which is why they are playing those two away games against Dortmund and PSG.
“I would take a point and send them to PSG with the knowledge that they can turn them over just like they did at home.”
It will be difficult. I believe that following the loss [against Dortmund], everyone had the expression, “That’s the one that will knock us out of the tournament.”
While a draw against one of the best teams in Europe would not be unfavorable, it does place a great deal of pressure on the remaining two games against Milan and PSG.
Eddie Howe’s injury headache continues
Three goalkeepers are among Newcastle’s 16 senior players who will be playing against Dortmund as a result of several injuries and bans sustained in recent weeks.
Nine first-team players, including Sven Botman, Dan Burn, and Alexander Isak, who have been essential to Howe’s strategy, will be absent for the Magpies this evening.
Newcastle’s outstanding form has not slowed down despite the rising list of injured players; they have just won both the league and the Carabao Cup.
Howe may have to rely on some of the squad’s more fringe players tonight, or possibly even some of the academy youngsters who haven’t played much before but have traveled, like Lucas De Bolle or Ben Parkinson.
