Man gets prison time for shooting at Wayne County deputies during Detroit chase

After firing at Wayne County deputies during a pursuit, a Detroit man was sentenced on Monday to seven to twenty years in prison.

In relation to the incident on January 18, Alex Hailey entered a guilty plea to two charges of assault with the intent to kill.

Authorities claim that when deputies attempted to pull Hailey over for driving recklessly, he ran away. He fired at deputies with a firearm during the pursuit. After some time, Hailey gave up and no one was harmed.

The counts of felonious assault, escaping and making false statements, and felonious firearm were dismissed as part of his plea. Hailey received credit for 657 days of incarceration as part of his sentence.
