Breaking News: VAR Call out Was Shocking And One’s Player hurt

At the hundredth minute of play, Oliver Norwood’s penalty kick gave Sheffield United their first Premier League win of the year against Wolves.

After it was determined that Wolves substitute Silva had fouled George Baldock in the box, the spot kick was given.

And when the final whistle went, Silva started crying after Norwood crashed home via the woodwork from a distance of twelve yards.

Silva collided with Baldock in the box, giving away the penalty.

Fabio Silva of Wolverhampton Wanderers sobbed after conceding a late penalty to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Replays seemed to indicate that the Sheffield United full-back was already heading to the ground at the instant of contact, but VAR stepped in and the referee directed to the spot.

But in the end, VAR determined that the referee’s on-field call was correct and the penalty was upheld.

Sheffield United took the lead earlier in the game when Cameron Archer struck a fantastic shot off the underside of the crossbar.

However, a deflected effort by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde gave Wolves a response in the 89th minute.

But during injury time, two penalty calls were reviewed by VAR. The first was a handball by Mario Lemina that neither the referee nor VAR awarded, and the second was the previously described Silva challenge on Baldock.

Former Premier League referee Mike Dean made the following statement on Soccer Saturday regarding the penalty call: “From a referee’s point of view, when you slow it down, Silva’s boot lands on the top of Baldock’s toes.” There is contact even though the punishment is mild.

“Since the referee awarded the penalty, the call was correct, and VAR could not have reversed it.

“Now that I’ve got more time to examine it closely, his foot is on Baldock’s foot. There was no communication last week [when Hwang received a punishment].

I think that’s a bigger penalty than it was last week.

It was a controversial call, to be sure, but not as contentious as the VAR ruling against Wolves last week.

Even though there was no contact between the two players on the replays, Hwang-hee Chan was found to have fouled Newcastle’s Fabian Schar in the box.

As a result, Anthony Taylor, the match’s referee, was demoted to the Championship.
