Ex-Rangers and Sunderland favourite makes bold Newcastle United claim

Rangers star Ally McCoist feels it is just a “matter of time” before Newcastle United end their long trophy drought, and has classified them as one of a slew of clubs that should enter every cup competition as one of the favorites. The Magpies haven’t won a domestic trophy since 1955 and have only appeared in one major cup final since 1999, but McCoist believes they are one of six clubs capable of winning silverware.

McCoist stated on TalkSport, “They will win a cup.” I truly believe they will win the Cup within the next few seasons. The atmosphere is electric, and I am overjoyed for Newcastle United supporters. I believe the entire city is buzzing about it.

“Every trophy that Manchester City starts in, they will be favorites,” he added. In Manchester City, you’re up against a lot of favoritism. I believe Liverpool are the next favourites, and then you have two or three clubs capable of winning the cup. Arsenal and Newcastle are two teams that could be considered, as well as Manchester United and Chelsea. But I believe it is only a question of time.”Newcastle United are the only team with a chance of winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup this season, despite a recent setback in their Champions League campaign. They meet Chelsea in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in December, having already eliminated both Manchester clubs.
