Frank McAvennie believes West Ham will beat Nottingham Forest on Sunday (12 November).
The Premier League clash between David Moyes’ Hammers and Steve Cooper’s team will take place at the London Stadium.
The hosts are now 12th in the Premier League table, one point and one position ahead of their next opponents.
McAvennie told West Ham Zone: “No disrespect to Forest, they’re doing very well, but if you look at our team and their team, we’re a better team.” It may appear simple, but if they play their best and we play our best, we will win. That’s the way I see things.
“They’re doing better than expected; many expected them to struggle this season, but they’re doing fine.” But failing to beat them will be a huge setback, especially at home. We have to go win it and put on a show.”
The Hammers have faded since their great start to the season, with Moyes’ side recently sliding to the bottom half of the standings.
But they should be buoyed by their most recent European outing, a 1-0 victory over Olympiacos on Thursday (9 November).
Their hectic schedule, on the other hand, may offer Cooper’s players with plenty of confidence that they can take something from East London, as exhaustion may set in for their opponents.
