Paratici ‘obsessed’ with £45m Newcastle star as ex-Tottenham chief makes ‘desperate’ transfer plea

In spite of this, it was reported earlier this month that he is still “pulling all the strings” when it comes to Tottenham’s recruitment and “remains heavily involved at the club despite resigning in April.”

According to Football Insider, the 51-year-old “wants him at Tottenham” and has a “obsession” with Gordon.

Gordon rose through the ranks at Everton, where he was a prominent player in 2021–2022 and contributed to the team’s avoidance of Premier League relegation.

Prior to the 2022–2023 season, a number of Premier League teams expressed interest in signing the 22-year-old, with reports indicating that Chelsea was prepared to spend approximately £60 million to acquire him.

Gordon was the greatest of the best, yet he didn’t seem worth such a high price a nasty group in the latter part of his Everton tenure.

He eventually signed with Newcastle for a reported £45 million, and since then, he has been great for Eddie Howe’s team, making his detractors look foolish.

In ten Premier League appearances, Gordon has four goals and two assists, and Paratici was “very keen” to sign him. The report continues.

According to Football Insider, a reliable source, Paratici was “obsessed” with Gordon and “desperate” to get him to the Spurs.

The Italian FA found him guilty of financial malfeasance, and he was subsequently banned from football for 30 months globally. Since then, the Italian has resigned as a director of Tottenham.

Despite moving to Newcastle for a hefty salary, Paratici is still reportedly a “huge fan” of Gordon and has maintained ties to Spurs.

Gary Neville complimented Gordon after he scored Newcastle’s game-winning goal against Arsenal last weekend after his ‘wonderful week’.

“Anthony Gordon scored right after he was put up front,” Neville stated on Sky Sports.

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to sign English winger Anthony Gordon, Fabio Paratici is allegedly “obsessed” with the player from Newcastle United.

After joining Tottenham as managing director in June 2021, the Italian helped the team sign Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur by utilizing his connections at Juventus.

Earlier this year, Paratici was forced to retire due to his involvement in a Capital Gains inquiry, which led to a 30-month penalty.
