‘Unbelievable’ Paul Merson makes disrespectful Nottingham Forest claim ahead of West Ham trip

Paul Merson has offered his weekly prediction for Nottingham Forest’s trip to West Ham United on Sunday.

Steve Cooper’s side will be seeking to make it back-to-back victories after defeating Unai Emery’s men last time out at the City Ground.

West Ham is searching for their first Premier League victory since September 30th, when they defeated Sheffield United 2-0.

Despite Forest’s success last Saturday, former Arsenal man Merson believes the game at the London Stadium this weekend will be a washout.

Merson on West Ham v Forest clash

In his Sportskeeda piece, the 55-year-old made the derogatory claim that the Irons will glide to victory on Sunday.

“West Ham United are currently on a poor run. That’s strange given how formidable they appeared a few weeks ago.”They’ve lost four of their last five matches overall. Despite their recent slump, I’m going with the Hammers here.

“They haven’t been able to break their recent losing streak.” However, this game versus Forest is an important one for them to get their season back on track.

“I still believe the Hammers are playing well enough to beat Steve Cooper’s team.”

Can Forest pick up a second away win?

The Reds equaled their away victory count from last season after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.

However, the Reds have not to win all three points on the road since their triumph against Chelsea, but Sunday should be a fantastic opportunity for Cooper’s team to break that streak.

Moyes’ team hasn’t been in great form and played in the Europa League tonight, so tired legs are expected on Sunday.

Forest will try to build on their fantastic triumph last weekend and move further away from the Premier League relegation zone.
