West Brom loanee Mo Faal makes decision on his future after starring for Doncaster Rovers
West Brom loanee Mo Faal has revealed he intends to represent The Gambia at international level after catching the eye with Doncaster Rovers.
Faal joined the League Two side on a season’s loan in the summer and has impressed with five goals in his past 10 appearances.
The 20-year-old has yet to represent any country at age-grade level, but he wants to play for his country of birth if given the opportunity.
“I was born in Gambia, that’s where I’m from, that’s where my family are from,” he said, as per the Doncaster Free Press [9 November].
“I think everyone would be proud of me if I do represent The Gambia. I’m just waiting for that to happen.”

Faal made the move from The Gambia to Birmingham at the age of seven, meaning he has spent more than half of his life in England.
However, his decision to pledge his allegiance to his birthplace is admirable, and you have to fancy his chances of getting capped one day soon.
The youngster is scoring at a solid rate in the fourth tier and may well be part of Carlos Corberan’s plans in the 2024-25 campaign.
Doncaster boss Grant McCann recently predicted Faal will “be unplayable” in the next couple of years, so the club clearly think high of him.
This is Faal’s fourth spell out on loan, but that is not to say Albion do not have any future plans for him.
Indeed, the fact he was brought on in April’s league defeat to Sunderland tells you that Corberan likes the look of him.
It is now down to Faal to continue performing at a high level in order to earn a place in the squads of both West Brom and The Gambia.
