Wolves boss names what he ‘must do better in future’ after rare Spurs moment

Gary O’Neil, manager of Wolves, believes he’must do better’ following a rare incident during the win over Tottenham.
Gary O’Neil has acknowledged the need to control his celebrations better in the future after Wolverhampton Wanderers’ comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur. Following Mario Lemina’s 97th-minute winner, O’Neil ran down towards the corner flag, departing from Premier League protocol by leaving his technical area to celebrate.

While the celebration was understandable given the extraordinary nature of the comeback, O’Neil hinted that the extent of his exuberance may have been bordering on unprofessional. Despite the joy it brought to fans and observers, including journalists, O’Neil recognizes the responsibility for managers to maintain a certain level of composure and adherence to protocol during matches.

“That was most likely my biggest celebration!” “I don’t know what happened, really, just a lot of energy and I couldn’t stand still,” O’Neil said during the post-match press conference. “I needed to run somewhere, and we weren’t allowed on the field, so the side of the field was one of the last options.” “In the future, I’ll try to control myself better,” O’Neil said.

Wolves have beaten a top-four opponent at home before, with the Old Gold completing a memorable 2-1 triumph over Manchester City at the end of September. There will be more chances for similar results in the future, since Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal are yet to visit Molineux this season.
