Alan Shearer received message from Chelsea after criticising Chelsea man

Alan Shearer, a Match of the Day regular, detailed how Chelsea approached him after the Newcastle great criticized summer signing Nicolas Jackson for his poor start.

Nicolas Jackson struggled to make a significant impact in Chelsea’s attack, scoring only once in the first seven weeks of the Premier League. The forward has recently found his stride, contributing four goals in two games, including a crucial finish in Sunday’s 4-4 draw with Manchester City.

Discussing the thrilling eight-goal match on The Rest Is Football podcast, Match of the Day guest Alan Shearer expressed his views on the game, stating, “I mean the game just had everything from start to finish. It was entertaining, and there were so many impressive performances, particularly from the guys in a Chelsea shirt.”

The improvement in Mauricio Pochettino’s management in west London, coupled with individual growth among several players, has led to a positive transformation in Chelsea’s prospects. The 22-year-old Jackson appears to be no exception to this positive trend, showcasing an upturn in his performances after a challenging start to the season.

“Jackson I agree; I was critical of his inactivity a few weeks ago. I received a text from Chelsea saying that they didn’t believe it was excessive and that they had been working on one or two things in and around it.”

The Newcastle legend did not elaborate on who was responsible for the message in issue at Stamford Bridge. However, Shearer’s criticisms may have had a positive effect in the long run, since the player has recently improved his form.
