On November 14, 2023, the Los Angeles Rams made a significant announcement regarding their practice facility, revealing plans to relocate it to Woodland Hills, CA ahead of the 2024 NFL Season. The new facility will be situated at the intersection of West Oxnard Street and Canoga Avenue, part of the approximately 100-acre property acquired by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke the previous year.
The official announcement occurred during a celebratory event at the nearby Topanga Village, a mixed-use shopping and dining destination also within the acquired 100 acres. Los Angeles Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff, along with Council member Bob Blumenfield, shared the news and disclosed that construction work on the new facility would commence later in the week.
Demoff expressed the significance of the day for the Rams, declaring Woodland Hills and the City of Los Angeles as their new home. He thanked Councilman Blumenfield and the community for their support, highlighting Kroenke’s unwavering commitment to the region since bringing the Rams back to Los Angeles. The Rams see the move as an expansion of their presence and a deepening of their impact across the city.
The announcement followed the Rams Community Blitz Day of Service in Woodland Hills, featuring charitable activities at the West Valley Food Pantry and military appreciation events at local schools. Rams players, cheerleaders, and Rampage joined the community events, marking the team’s commitment to giving back to their new home.
In the coming months, the Rams plan to set up a temporary facility with modular trailers, including office space, meeting rooms, a weight room, training room, locker room, media room, and meal room. Adjacent to the trailers, two football fields will serve as the team’s training and practice grounds.
This initial step aligns with Kroenke’s long-term vision for the land, part of the larger development envisioned under the Warner Center 2035 plan for Woodland Hills. Once the practice facility is established, the organization intends to explore a broader development encompassing the permanent team headquarters, residential and commercial spaces, retail outlets, green spaces, and other community amenities.
Topanga Village, part of the newly acquired property, is a prominent shopping and dining destination in the West Valley with over 70 shops and restaurants. The outdoor center is known for its family-friendly features, including a playground, pet-friendly areas, and water features. Future improvements aim to create a welcoming space for the community to gather, shop, dine, and participate in various events throughout the year.
E. Stanley Kroenke’s extensive background in real estate and community development, exemplified by the Kroenke Group, underscores his commitment to multifaceted projects. As the owner of SoFi Stadium and ongoing developer of Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA, Kroenke integrates sports, retail, and community development, reflecting his diverse expertise and dedication to transformative ventures.
