Breaking news: Miami Dolphins confirmed another injury boost as they welcomed key player from injury

The Miami Dolphins received a boost in their depleted receiver unit as River Cracraft, a seasoned veteran, was taken off injured reserve and added to the active roster. This move coincided with the Dolphins waiving cornerback Kelvin Joseph, acquired in an August trade with the Dallas Cowboys. Cracraft, sidelined for a month due to a shoulder injury, was crucially added to the 53-man roster before the deadline, preventing him from spending the rest of the season on injured reserve. While Joseph may be considered for the Dolphins’ practice squad, he must clear waivers.

Cracraft’s return is anticipated to benefit the Dolphins’ offense significantly. Known as the team’s top blocking receiver with an extensive understanding of Miami’s offense, his versatility in playing all three receiver positions makes him a valuable asset, particularly in addressing injuries. Before his shoulder injury, Cracraft, a sixth-year veteran, showcased his skills with six receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in three games this season, including one start. He is also a respected special teams contributor with return skills, potentially filling in if Braxton Berrios’s knee injury hampers his participation.

The Dolphins’ receiving corps faces challenges, with Berrios, Jaylen Waddle, Chase Claypool, and Tyreek Hill dealing with various injuries. Waddle’s knee injury is unlikely to limit his practice, while Claypool and Hill may require rest for knee and maintenance issues, respectively. Despite these challenges, the addition of Cracraft strengthens the unit’s depth alongside Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Robbie Chosen.
