Coach Mike McDaniel’s offer fresh RB Achane issue injury update ahead of Las Vegas Raiders match

The Las Vegas Raiders have remained in contention in the AFC playoff race due to the strength of their defense. However, they face a formidable challenge as they travel to Hard Rock Stadium to confront the Miami Dolphins, whose offense ranks as the highest-scoring in the league under Coach Mike McDaniel’s innovative system.

The Dolphins, known for their proficiency in passing, have faced setbacks in their run game since the injury to rookie running back De’Von Achane. Achane, designated to return from injured reserve, could potentially play against the Raiders, providing a significant boost to the Dolphins’ ground attack. The third-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 188 pounds, was leading the NFL in yards per carry at 12.1 before his injury. With exceptional speed, demonstrated by a 4.32 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, Achane’s return could pose a challenging test for the Raiders’ defense.

Formerly a track and field star at Texas A&M, Achane switched to football, showcasing his speed alongside other fast Dolphins players. In a game against the Denver Broncos, Achane contributed 203 rushing yards and four total touchdowns, emphasizing his impact on the Dolphins’ offense. If he plays against the Raiders, their defense, unaccustomed to facing a running back as fast as Achane, will need to find ways to slow him down. The Raiders are set to face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1:00 p.m. EST/10:00 a.m. PST in South Beach.
