The Buckeyes reveals the star they want to add to blocker in 2024 class

Ohio State is actively seeking to bolster its 2024 recruiting class, particularly in the offensive line. Despite having 23 commitments, the Buckeyes are focused on securing additional players, with emphasis on the trenches. While the offensive line already has three commitments, the pursuit of another offensive tackle remains a priority. Jordan Seaton from IMG Academy was the preferred choice, but a canceled visit has cast doubt on his inclusion in the class.

In response to potential setbacks with Seaton, the coaching staff is exploring alternatives, and one standout is Gabe VanSickle. Committed to Northwestern since May, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle recently visited Ohio State, sparking growing confidence that he could be a viable flip candidate. VanSickle, a native of Coopersville, Michigan, is recognized as a formidable player in his state, and there’s anticipation that Ohio State might make significant efforts if the Seaton pursuit doesn’t progress.

VanSickle, a three-star recruit and the No. 61 interior offensive lineman, is a notable prospect worth monitoring, especially considering his impact on the field. While he hasn’t been very vocal on social media, his recruitment is gaining attention, and the Buckeyes view him as a potential alternative if other options don’t materialize. During the Michigan State game, VanSickle was among three potential flip candidates, alongside defensive line commit Amaris Williams and wide receiver commit Chance Robinson, whom Ohio State aims to sway from their current commitments.
