Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel’s hilarious ‘fantasy football’ response to De’Von Achane injury question

Head coach of the Miami Dolphins Mike McDaniel could not care less about any of our fantasy football starting lineups. Mike McDaniel, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, is clearly a man enjoying the life of his dreams. Just take a look at how he thrives in one of the most demanding and stressful roles in sports while remaining unabashedly and fearlessly authentic, telling jokes when things are well and opening up about the difficult moments in his life. It’s a fantastic narrative, and as one of the league’s non-player faces, McDaniel will be a fantastic spokesperson for the NFL.

Just avoid asking him anything that might even be somewhat related to fantasy football. Then, you give McDaniel permission to (jokingly) pursue you (h/t NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe X account). Rookie running back De’Von Achane turned into one of the best fantasy football assets almost immediately after seeing just one carry in the Dolphins’ opening two games of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots. In the following three games, he ran for 455 yards and five touchdowns (plus two receiving touchdowns) on just 37 carries. After missing four games due to a knee sprain, Achane is now stepping up his comeback attempt. According to McDaniel, his rookie running back appeared “untackleable” in practice on Monday, and unless there’s a setback, he should be ready to play on Sunday when the Dolphins host the suddenly dominant Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are presently 29th in terms of running yards allowed going into week 11, so Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane might be in line for another huge game. Fantasy players, make the necessary adjustments to your lineups.
