Joel Embiid Reflects On 76ers Struggles Without Key Player

After witnessing Tyrese Maxey emerge and take the league by storm without James Harden early in the season, the Philadelphia 76ers felt at ease ending their relationship with him.

Maxey is performing at an All-Star and All-NBA caliber, and should the Sixers keep up their current winning streak, he could be a contender for MVP.

Even though he has had a significant impact, the team has suffered greatly when he has had to sit, which is undoubtedly a major problem for Nick Nurse’s squad.

When questioned about it, Joel Embiid said that the lack of Maxey’s playing time has been detrimental to the club all season long since it has made the offense predictable and stagnant overall (via Kyle Neubeck).

The Boston Celtics’ defeat on Wednesday night made that particularly clear.

Nurse’s new-look approach has engaged every player on the Sixers, who are a deep squad.

However, they will need to fix this issue before things go out of control. The second unit is in dire need of another ball handler who can put the ball on the floor and control the play.

As one of the league’s fastest players and a player who can travel coast to coast in the blink of an eye, Maxey has excelled at pushing the break.

He is also a skilled pick-and-roll player who can manage the game’s speed and assist everyone in getting the rock in their designated areas.

Though it’s too early to set off the alarms, they must find a quick solution to that problem.
