Given the problematic injury histories of their current two goal scorers, Newcastle United is in serious need of another striker.
Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are the only two recognized strikers in Newcastle’s first team at the moment. Since moving to Newcastle, both strikers have demonstrated a propensity for the occasional injury, and as of right now, they are both listed as injured.
As a result, Newcastle has to make it a top priority in January to sign a third striker to complement the two we already have.
Newcastle are favourites to sign Marcos Leonardo
BolaVIP reports from Brazil indicate that the Magpies are reportedly looking for a solution.
Tim Vickery, a South American football specialist, has already compared Marcos Leonardo, who plays for Santos in Brazil, to Brazil great Romario and Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero, indicating that he is a potential star.
The 20-year-old has been linked to numerous Premier League and European teams, including Real Madrid and Manchester United. However, according to BolaVIP, Newcastle is the front-runner and will submit a €18 million (£15.7 million) bid for the striker in January.
Marcos Leonardo clearly knows where teh goal is
Marcos Leonardo is just five points above the Brasileiro Serie A drop zone with 21 goals and 4 assists in 45 games for Santos this season in Brazil.
Marcos Leonardo has been commended for his ability to steal goals and his penchant to punish defenders for their errors. He undoubtedly has an eye for the goal. His sound is similar to that of Alexander Isak, but with a hint of Brazilian influence.
He must have something about him to be likened to Aguero and Romario, and Newcastle would be foolish not to sign him in January for roughly £15 million.
